Fresh Prep Institute on Global History and U.S. History
The most recent Fresh Prep Institute workshop was held on June 6th, 2013 @ The NYC Transfer School Educators Conference
Fresh Prep: It’s Bigger than Hip Hop was co-facilitated by Meri Yallowitz, Principal, Metropolitan Diploma Plus HS, Michael Wiggins, Fresh Prep Program Manager, Caroline Sherman, Teacher MDPHS and Eleanor Tannis, Fresh Prep MC. In this session, teachers working to prepare young people for the Regents Exam in U.S. and Global History were offered ways to harness aspects of Hip Hop and youth culture to create more positive teacher student relationships, increase levels of student engagement, and improve academic outcomes for struggling students.
